Description

RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit hospital and community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an opening for a full-time Controller. The Controller will work closely with, and provide support to, the CFO and will be considered as a potential successor to the CFO position.

 

Ridgeview provides a wide range of outpatient programs and services throughout a six-county geographic region, including Anderson, Campbell, Morgan, Roane, Scott, and Fentress counties. In addition, Ridgeview operates a 16 bed Joint Commission accredited adult inpatient unit located at our main center in Oak Ridge. Ridgeview receives funding from Medicare, Medicaid/TennCare, commercial insurance, federal, state and local funding sources.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree with an accounting concentration. Either a Master’s degree in a related area or active CPA license is preferred. Five or more years of financial management experience is required, preferably in a hospital environment. Four years of progressive leadership within the healthcare industry and experience in the development and presentation of financial analysis to senior management is preferred.

JOB DUTIES


The primary responsibilities are to manage the day-to-day financial activities of the organization and to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Management of general finance functions, including monthly financial reporting and all associated analysis.
  • Supervision of the accounting and patient billing departments.
  • Oversight and management of the revenue cycle.
  • Provide direction and leadership in the coordination and preparation of the annual budget.
  • Tracks and reports budget variances monthly. Makes recommendations regarding budget variances.
  • Coordination with the Quality Control and Compliance Team to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations governing not-for-profit organizations and healthcare billing.
  • Support the CFO and senior management to build, develop and execute financial and accounting strategies/processes and systems to effectively meet and support Ridgeview’s objectives.
  • Coordination of annual audit and preparation of various tax filings with outside auditors and accounting firms.
  • Monitoring of accounting policies and procedures and consultation with senior management regarding recommended improvements.
  • Attends committee, and management meetings, as appropriate.
