RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an immediate opening for a full-time Master's level Clinician to assist with assessments in our walk in center and out in the community. This position will provide a great opportunity for a professional motivated to provide excellent service to community members experiencing a broad range of mental health and/or substance abuse issues. This is a great learning experience for those who are new to the field or who want a broader background in the counseling profession. Professional licensure supervision is available for LCSW or LPC-MHSP. Following the training period, this position will generally be scheduled for evening shift.

REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree in social work, psychology, or counseling. Must possess and maintain a valid TN driver's license and a safe driving record. LMSW/ Temporary LPC license preferred or the ability to obtain one of these licenses within a 6 month time frame. The candidate will be expected to obtain Mandatory Prescreening Agent (MPA) designation upon hire or when the license is obtained; training is provided. A bonus is awarded once the MPA designation has been confirmed. Excellent verbal and written skills required. Knowledge of DSM5 criteria and ability to determine preliminary mental health diagnosis.

JOB DUTIES

Provides assessment of adults experiencing a psychiatric emergency. Determines crisis needs, crisis intervention, telephone consultation, linkage with community resources, and pre-screening admissions of emergency hospital commitments. Follows-up to ensure appropriate service is available. Uses a telehealth system to provide some of these services in various locations. Some travel required to provide service in Ridgeview’s 5-county catchment area using a Ridgeview-provided car. Displays positive interaction and communication with community agencies and other public relations activities.
