Description

RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an immediate opening for a Part-Time (20 hrs/wk) Certified Peer Recovery Specialist.  This position will be part of the Re-entry Program for Offenders. The schedule will be 20 flexiblw hours occurring flexibly during the 8am-8pm range on weekdays, and will be shared between Anderson & Roane Counties.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicant for this position must be a current or former mental health consumer with a minimum of two years of experience working in the mental health field or a Certified Peer Specialist (CPRS).  A High School Diploma or GED at minimum. If not a CPRS, must be qualified and willing to obtain Peer Specialist Certification within one year of hire. Requires F endorsement on TN driver’s license.

JOB DUTIES

A CPRS is a position of the Ridgeview’s Recovery Reentry Program (RREP) and is a member of the client’s Reentry Team.  This position will assist and support consumer self-help, advocacy, and education about co-occurring mental health issues and resources.  Through a Peer Recovery Support, consumers develop their own program to supplement existing mental health services or provide an alternative to those services.  Duties will include providing peer support, assistance in meeting program objectives, co-facilitating mental health recovery groups (as needed) and providing transitional reentry supports for offenders released from jail.
