RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an immediate opening for a Full Time (30 hrs/wk) Inpatient Unit Admissions Coordinator. The schedule will primarily be daytime hours with every other weekend required.

REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a degree or diploma from a college or an accredited school of nursing; possess a current unrestricted license issued by the Tennessee Board of Nursing; and demonstrate capacity to work effectively in a therapeutic relationship with individuals and groups.  A minimum of five years psychiatric nursing experience is required; must have demonstrated knowledge base of psychiatric nursing concepts.  Must have demonstrated ability to work effectively within systems, agencies, and departments to promote positive relationships and partnerships. Must have valid driver’s license and must be able to be obtain certification in CPR and CPI.

JOB DUTIES

The position is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating admission referrals and facilitating an efficient and timely response and movement through the admission process. Responsibilities include both pre-admission and post-admission processes including referral triage, management of wait list for inpatient admission, insurance pre-authorization, and initial admission procedures.  Positions acts as liaison between IPU and internal/external referral sources and promotes positive and effective collaborations.  Must have excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills and ability to foster open communication and positive partnerships. Must be able to interact effectively with various disciplines both within and outside the agency and serve as an ambassador for Ridgeview and IPU.
