Description
Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services, a not-for-profit community mental health center, based in Oak Ridge, TN, has an opening for a full-time, Residential Assistant in our Supervised Residential 24/7 home in Oak Ridge Tennessee. This position generally works Thursday and Saturday 2:45pm-11:00pm.
Ridgeview currently operates three Supervised Residential 24/7 homes for individuals with chronic mental illness in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. The residence philosophy is one of Recovery through recognizing a consumer’s strength, assets and independent living goals. The Residential staff assists and supports each consumers short and long term Recovery plans.
Ridgeview has served the local Anderson, Roane, Morgan, Campbell, and Scott county communities for over 50 years and offers a friendly work environment where staff work together to provide high quality behavioral health services through prevention, treatment of mental illness and substance abuse, and support to improve the overall health, wellbeing, recovery, and hope of the people we serve.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent is required: experience in residential facilities and/or psychology/ sociology/ mental health preferred. Must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license, a safe driving record, and must be insurable on Ridgeview’s policy. Commitment to working all scheduled shifts is important. Students in the behavioral health/social service majors or minors encouraged to apply-supplementing classroom curriculum. Continued training and on-going team support available.
JOB DUTIES
This position is responsible for the direct supervision and safety of all residents in the home through consistent shift monitor. The Residential Support staff member promotes and enhances a client-centered and goal supportive environment.
